Prior to working for Capitol Advantage Associates, Lisa Martin served for 14 years as the Director of Regulatory Affairs and Director of Government Affairs for the 14,000 member-firm North Carolina Home Builders Association. Lisa was NCHBA’s chief lobbyist at the NC General Assembly and before Executive Branch agencies, commissions and licensing boards. Lisa lead the development of state legislative and regulatory policy and advocated before the NC Congressional Delegation on behalf of the National Association of Home Builders.
NCHBA’s government affairs goals and strategies covered a wide range of issues including environmental, tax, building code, workers comp, licensing and labor and employment. Many of the goals required collaboration with business groups and related trade associations to advance legislative and regulatory policies that directly affected the ability of NCHBA members to conduct business.
Lisa’s work experience also includes non-profit Director; Planner and Supervisor for the NC Department of Environment & Natural Resources; and private and public sector transportation and land use planning.
Lisa served for two terms as an appointed member of the North Carolina OSHA Advisory Council. She also serves on the Alexander YMCA Advisory Board and volunteers for the Rex Hospital Foundation.
